I just dealt with it and used them anyway because Marrikas is so fussy about returns, but every time I look at the duvet I get irked all over again.

(More customer reviews)Not what I expected. This comforter is NOT micro suede, although it is soft -- I believe the material is actually just polyester or cotton. The comforter is pretty flimsy, and the backing is very thin gold silk. I am afraid to wash it, even though it is washable, hence it either rips open or the cotton inside it bunches together and it becomes lumpy like the last comforter I ordered from Amazon. The pillows are nice though, but the comforter definitely could have been better quality, even for $60. If I could do it over again I would but one from a store where I could see and feel the quality of the fabric.

It seems like they are 250 count sheets, and the sellers are trying to pull them off as 500 (as sheets are 2-ply). The cover still looks quite nice, and I like the damask stripe (however they do wrinkle and of course everything shows up on black sheets!). Though I'm disappointed with the softness of the product, perhaps I shouldn't have expected so much at this price!

I ordered the laurel colored (green) king size duvet. The duvet is decently soft and is thicker than your average chain store duvet. I love the color and it looks great on our bed.
Washing it was a bit of a challenge in that it was too heavy for our washing machine during the spin cycle, but I was able to hand wring it, let the water drain and then put it on the spin cycle.. Maybe there is an easier way for washing in the washing machine.
I do like the duvet, and do not regret buying it in the least. I'm not sure if it is worth $200+. But it is likely being "organic" that you are paying the extra amount. It does seem like a higher end duvet (even though flannel), so I would purchase another in the future.
I'm giving 4* because of the challenge in washing it.

When it came in, the package was beautiful, all tied up in a bow. The colors and quality were just like the picture and were exactly what she had been looking for. Unfortunately, the duvet did not adequately cover the pillow-top mattress but could be pulled down on one side (with the other side against the wall). Not sure if it would fit a standard mattress or not.

(More customer reviews)At first, when taking it out of the packaging, this duvet cover looked and felt wonderful. I unfolded it and noticed it had white plastic snap closures instead of a zipper. I, then, located the washing instruction tag and proceeded to launder it, as directed, before putting it on my bed for the first time. Imagine my disappointment when pulling it out of the dryer and broken snap closures tumbled out with it and there were pieces left in the bottom of the dryer, too. I would think that a 1000 thread count Egyptian cotton product would have had a better quality closure system.

It is kind of hard to tell the detail from the picture. A magnified look would have helped. It has a shimmery thread added in, so if that's what you want, go for it. (More customer reviews)I ordered this duvet set because of the high thread count, but am very dissapointed with the weight of the product. I expected it to be much heavier thicker thread. When I hold my hand on the underside of the fabric, I am able to observe my hand color. I had hoped to put this cover over a green comforter, but now I'm not sure that it will fully mask the color.
Dispite all this, the fabric is very soft and I expect that it will be even softer after several washes. We decided to keep it and save ourselves hassle of shipping, and will just get another cover (in person) at some later point.
