(More customer reviews)As my young son is a huge super hero buff, finding him the perfect full-size comforter proved more difficult than expected. Part of the problem is that all too often super hero bedding accessories are based upon the latest comic book movies, which frequently targets young kids in their merchandising even though the movie itself isn't necessarily appropriate for the kids' age bracket. Case in point: PG-13 and R-rated movies like "The Dark Knight," "Iron Man," and "The Incredible Hulk," and "Superman Returns" will try selling anything and everything to promote themselves, no matter whether or not youngsters should actually see these movies.
At the time (a few months ago), our only options were "The Dark Knight" and an over-priced, out-of-release one with Superman. My conscience told me buying my son bedding accessories based upon an R-rated film like "The Dark Knight," just wasn't right. Luckily, we finally came upon this set featuring Marvel Comics' "Super Hero Squad" (i.e. kiddie versions of vintage characters like Captain America, the Hulk, Wolverine, etc.). While I understand there is an animated program tie-in (really, no surprise there), this lightweight comforter is well-manufactured and holds up well after washing.
Rating: 9/10.(Great option for your super-tyke!)
P.S. Also, the manufacturers produce matching bed sheets & pillow cases if you are looking for them (sold separately, of course).
