When I first opened up the box I thought it felt odd, so I washed the comforter and when I did so, i could see right through it and could see a few feathers, but not many because it's filled with plastic, which makes this the heaviest comforter I have slept under.

The blanket and sheets are very soft and look great. This is a very good value and you get everything you need in one bag. I highly suggest this to anyone who just bought a new mattress as it can be very costly buying sheets and everything you need. I also love that its 100% cotton (everything except the top of the comforter) The sheets feel like a soft t-shirt. The colors are great and look just like the picture. The sheets are white with brown on the top and the bed skirt is brown.

(More customer reviews)In the image it appears that the two blues are definitely different colors. However, when I put the comforter on my bed I could hardly tell the difference. My mom walked into the room later and even commented that she thought there were supposed to be two different shades of blue. The color difference is hardly noticeable at all, even close up. Imagine a navy blue, and then a navy blue one shade off. That's what you get color-wise.
The comforter feels nice and soft, it's a comforter...I am just disappointed with how little the two blues contrast.
UPDATE: I got a bigger bed and my mom thought I'd like the same comforter and found it at a local store. The colors do contrast similar to the way they do in the picture amazon displays. Perhaps the original I received from amazon was a bad one. The one from amazon was for a twin bed, the new one from Bed Bath & Beyond is for a queen. You might want to look for the comforter at Bed Bath & Beyond or Linens and Things so you can see the difference in the store to make sure it's noticeable.

(More customer reviews)I bought this comforter in red. I am going to order another in white. It is wrinkled. Very wrinkled. But I think the wrinkles add to the character. It doesn't look like the picture. In the photo it was obviously steamed to within an inch of its life. Which is unfortunately misleading, but the comforter is really beautiful. It does run a little small so you will want to order up a size. Also it is the kind of cotton (sorry I don't know much about fabric) that picks up a lot of lint and pet hair.
I'm really pleased with the purchase.

The brown and off-white colors are accurate in the photo; the contrast gold color is a soft gold and not as bright as pictured. This was a plus for us as the color combo is quite elegant. The comforter fits our king size bed well and the dark color doesn't show the pet hair as much as I thought it would. Also, the comforter is a good weight for us, thick but not too thick. I really like the shams and accent pillows -- they highlight the comforter nicely and take it from boring to interesting.

The only drawback I've found in the few months I've owned it is that any liquid except water leaves a very obvious mark -- like if you're dumb enough to dribble toothpaste or a soft drink on it. It all washes off fine in the laundry though, so it's not like anything permanent happens.

We washed the comforter according to the washing instructions before putting it on our bed. Upon taking it out of the washer we found the blues and browns had run into the whites in different places. We tried to return the product but the seller would not accept it because we had washed it. On their behalf they were very good with communication and did give us a 15% refund. This is a nice bed set but if you need to wash the comforter I would suggest taking it to a dry cleaners to have it cleaned.

Unfortunately, the comforter was too thin for my liking (I guess that's the gamble you take buying un-reviewed items online). The fabric was soft and the color was pretty accurate to the picture (the brown was not as dark though). The size would be perfect for a queen bed, even though it is king sized. If I had a futon or extra bed I would keep it. I am returning the comforter set because it won't keep me as warm as I would like it to.

(More customer reviews)Comforter isn't wide enough to hang over the sides of the bed! We turned the comforter to the side so it would hang but it just looks all wrong on our king bed. Had the comforter been the right width I probably would have kept it. The color is exactly as showed online and the material is very soft. However, the comforter is much thinner than expected, it looks fluffy to me in the picture! Would most likely be good for spring/summer time use due to thickness(or lack thereof). The pillows came with stuffing mostly to one side but you can push it around to fix it. I really wish it would have fit the bed, I love the colors!
